I’m on a residential job today with driveway cleaning tips, along with sidewalks and back patio. So I thought I would pass along a few tips from being on this job site. The first tip is having the owner be prepared for my arrival. This means texting the night before about my time of arrival with a request to make sure the cars are not on the driveways. And not on the curbs as well since I plan to clean those too. Even though the car was still in the driveway when I arrived, she came right out and moved the car.
HOSES OUT
Right off the bat, I get my hoses stretched out and hook the water hose up to the faucet to begin filling my tank. My surface cleaner is out and ready while we give a little time for the tank to fill. I am not big on pre-treating. But I do make sure the concrete is good and wet. Sometimes if necessary, I will post treat and let the bleach mix dry. This is because the bleach is not cleaning the concrete. It is simply changing the color of the algae. And we want to make sure hoses are laid out in order so that the hoses follow me during cleaning.
PRESSURE REGULATOR
In this video, at the 7:00 time stamp, I demonstrate using the surface cleaner pressure regulator. Some of the concrete on this driveway is much newer. The pressure regulator allows me to lower my pressure on the newer concrete without having to stop and change nozzles. Then raise the pressure back up for older concrete that is far more dirty. This helps to protect the integrity of the newer concrete. In this video, I also discuss edging of the driveway.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Don’t miss all the training opportunities I provide. There are monthly hands on training events in Houston on Saturdays, and I have an online video school. In addition, I am available to provide individual virtual consultations, as well as hands on training at your location throughout Houston. And, I’m even flying to L.A. soon to provide training there. Watch for another Atlanta training event also in the planning stages. Just email PressureCleaningSchool@Gmail.com and we can discuss the best training strategy for your situation.
