On March 11, 2011, I held my very first in-person class for what would become my pressure washing school. At the time, I didn’t know exactly what it would grow into, but I did know one thing: I wanted to help people learn how to start and grow a pressure washing business the right way.
Now, 15 years later, we’ve trained over 1,000 students. And honestly, that’s the part I’m most proud of.
Why I Started This Pressure Washing School
When I first started in this industry, I made mistakes — plenty of them. Like most people, I had to learn through trial and error, and that can get expensive and frustrating fast.
So when I created my pressure washing school, my goal was simple: help others avoid those same mistakes and give them a clearer path forward.
From the beginning, I also wanted this to be more than just theory. That’s why I built the training around a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience, something that really wasn’t being done at the time.
How I Teach (And Why It Works)
I’ve always believed people learn best when they can:
- Hear it
- See it
- And then go do it themselves
That’s exactly how we run every pressure washing school class. In the classroom, I walk through:
- Equipment and setup
- Chemicals and safety
- Proper cleaning techniques
- Pricing your jobs the right way
- And how to actually run your business
Then we take it outside and put it all into practice using real equipment, the same kind you’ll be using on the job.
Because at the end of the day, you don’t just need information, you need confidence in what you’re doing.
The Kind of People Who Come Through This School
Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the chance to work with more than 1,000 students. And while everyone comes from different backgrounds, there’s something they all have in common:
- They’re good people.
- They’re eager to learn.
- And they want to do things the right way.
Some are just getting started. Others have been in business for a couple of years and want to improve what they’re doing. Either way, they show up ready to work, and that makes all the difference.
Why I Keep Classes Small
One thing I have rarely ever changed is class size.
Most of my pressure washing classes are around eight people. That’s intentional: It gives everyone the chance to ask questions, get hands-on time with the equipment, and really understand what we’re doing.
Even during our 15-year anniversary classes in March 2026 — when we had 15 students in Houston and five in Valdosta — we kept the focus on making sure everyone got the attention they needed.
Because this isn’t about rushing people through, it’s about making sure they leave ready.
What Meant the Most on Our 15-Year Anniversary
During our anniversary classes, I saw something that really stuck with me.
I had a former student come back for a refresher. That’s something I offer at no additional cost, and I always enjoy seeing familiar faces come through again.
I also had past students show up with someone they were training on the job, encouraging them to take the class and start building their own business.
That’s what this pressure washing school has always been about.
It’s not just about learning a skill — it’s about building something, growing it, and then helping someone else do the same.
15 Years of Consistency
For the past 15 years, I’ve held in-person pressure washing classes every single month.
The locations have expanded. We now offer training in:
- Houston, TX (with me)
- Valdosta, GA (with Jud West)
And for those who can’t make it in person, we also offer online courses so you can learn at your own pace.
But no matter how you take the training, the goal stays the same: to help you build your business the right way.
Watch: 15 Years of Pressure Washing School
If you want to hear directly from me about what this 15-year milestone means, I put together a short video sharing the journey, the people, and what this pressure washing school has become over the years.
15 Years of Teaching People How to Start a Pressure Washing Business
In that video, I talk about where we started back in 2011, what I’ve seen from more than 1,000 students, and why the mission hasn’t changed.
It’s still about helping good people learn the right way, so they can build a real business, avoid costly mistakes, and eventually help someone else do the same.
